Hi there. It’s been quite a while, hasn’t it? You still look great. Wondering where I’ve been? Well, that’s a story for another day. I took a break from blogging, and now as I share my goals for 2016, I’m inspired by folks like Chris Guillebeau and Maria who sum up their aims in two words. I’m hoping to get back into a regular blogging routine. I haven’t lined up three months’ worth of posts, and with a fair bit of international travel planned for the first quarter, this might be the only post you’ll see for a while. But sharing my goals here will hold me accountable. So, without further ado, my guiding words for 2016 are:
**Investing and Mindfulness**
First, I aim to **invest in myself**. I’m my most valuable asset, and if I’m not functioning well, everything else becomes complicated. This means focusing on my health by eating right, taking care of myself, and exercising. It also includes investing in my education through training, books, and courses that can improve my life or business.
Next, I want to **invest in my blogs**. I’ve been quite neglectful of them in 2015, even though they’ve provided a steady income. I barely reinvested to help them grow, leaving me in the same spot as last January. My hourly rate is great, but I’ve hit a plateau. I’m on the lookout for a good graphic designer for Genesis because a fresh look is long overdue.
I also plan to **invest my money** more wisely. This past year, I’ve let my money grow on autopilot without maximizing potential returns. My goal is to re-evaluate my liquid asset allocations and make my money work harder for me.
**Mindfulness** is my second key aim, as I’ve been pretty distracted lately. It hasn’t been my best year, partly because I haven’t been fully present in the moment or attentive to what I’m doing.
I want to practice **mindful actions**. I often find myself physically present but mentally elsewhere, leading to things like burning my bread, forgetting details of a movie I just watched, or misplacing personal items. My goal is to live fully in the moment and do one thing at a time, but do it well.
Lastly, I want to focus on **mindful relationships**. This means distancing myself from toxic people and dedicating more time, attention, and care to the wonderful people in my life. I aim to be grateful for my friends and engage in positive relationships, cutting ties quickly when I don’t feel a reciprocal benefit.
So, I hope to be around more this year and wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year!
