Crafting Ambitious September Objectives: Insights on Blogging and Financial Strategies

### Recently, I’ve been having trouble focusing. Being back in Paris, I’ve got a lot of people to catch up with, and I’m also staying with my mom and helping her out around the house. Plus, living arrangements at 32 aren’t ideal. So, I’ve let a lot of things slide, but I’m setting some specific goals for September and will reassess them in a month.

#### BLOG
1. Find a picture for each article. It’s tougher than I expected, especially if you want to respect copyright. I have lots of personal photos but not many related to finance.
2. Update SEO on each article. I use an SEO add-on for WordPress, so I’ll need to add titles, descriptions, and keywords to some posts.
3. Link my articles together. Many of them don’t have links, even though they relate to older posts.
4. Update the Tweet and Facebook like buttons on each article. They haven’t been working correctly.
5. Create my Facebook app. This has been on hold ever since I started the blog, but it’s essential for adding a Facebook widget so people can follow me there.
6. Update my Twitter account. I need to create some lists to better organize the people I follow.
7. Download Dreamweaver to refine my blog’s design. I use a great theme but need some personal touches that I can’t manage on WordPress, especially since I don’t know PHP and might already have messed something up! I’ll leave this for last since Dreamweaver has a 30-day trial, and I don’t want to waste those days.

#### FINANCIAL
1. Spend nothing! I tend to spend a lot when I’m in town, going out with friends. This month is tighter because I have an unexpected $1,000 tax bill, and my apartment sale fell through, so I won’t get that big check in October. I also have to keep paying about $400 per month in condo fees and rent for a secure door. That’s $1,400 out of nowhere, so I really need to cut back on spending. Staying with my mom helps since there’s no rent!
2. Cycle or take public transportation. I’m lazy, and having a motorcycle makes it tempting to use it, but parking in Paris is a nightmare and the traffic is crazy. It’s risky and costly in terms of gas. I’ll pull my bicycle out of storage this week and start cycling or using the subway. That way, I can also enjoy a drink with friends without worrying about a DUI.

#### WORK
I need some extra cash, so I might look for a temp job or write more articles. I have contacts for both options.

#### LANDLORDING
One of my tenants in the UK has given notice, so I need to find a new one by the end of the month. My flat is usually in demand, especially now that people are heading back to school, so I’m optimistic.

#### STUDIO FLAT
My Paris studio sale fell through because the buyer got cold feet. I’ll advertise it everywhere to try and get it sold.

That’s it for now!
